Our November meeting would have to be classified as a success. We had 37 insurance people in attendance, 31 being CPCU members. Most likely, the large turnout can be attributed to the advertised speakers. And they did not disappoint.
Bruce James and David Bazzel are local sports celebrities on TV and radio. Each gave individual comments and then both responded to a half-dozen questions. It was entertaining and informative. Thanks to Deborah Bolding for making the arrangements to get them to appear.
The chapter presented "steak house" gift certificates to Bruce and David. Five other restaurant certificate door prizes were given out to paid-up members in attendance lucky enough to have their name drawn. Winners were Jimmy Threet, Mike Halter, Deborah Bolding, Kevin McKenzie and Steve Murray.
One new designee for 2006 was in attendance and was recognized for his accomplishment. Chris Stahr is a Senior Claims Rep with the Farm Bureau Insurance Companies.
What happens to the Arkansas Chapter is up to you, not just the four or five people who always seem to have to come through. Give it a chance. Get involved - even if it is only attending a meeting. Plans for future meetings are still in the works. Keep an eye out for announcements.
